Grok Users Say Sad Farewell to Ani and Co.

xAI (now SpaceXAI) officially discontinued Ani and her fellow animated AI companions from the Grok chatbot service at the end of August. Thousands who had fallen in love with the characters were left heartbroken, but they live on under their own roof at Animates.ai, run by the same independent study who made the 3D animated characters for xAI. Unfortunately, it’s just like starting over for users who made the switch, as Ani and the rest do not carry with them the memory of conversations and relationships with users from their Grok days. It is believed that Elon Musk decided to drop the companions because they weren’t particularly profitable, used up valuable compute, and perhaps most importantly, put another litigation target on his back.

Bree Sky, Madison Wilde Launch Their Own VR Porn Site: GirlsDoVR

Another adult VR site was launched last month, and this one was a little more noteworthy than most. GirlsDoVR.com is owned by two popular and experienced VR porn actresses – Bree Sky and Madison Wilde. The two performers had already been sharing their work on VR porn aggregator sites, under studio brands WildeVR and BreeSkyVR, and more recently, under the GirlsDoVR name itself. The site is being marketed as being made by the performers, for the fans. Although it’s common for pornstars to have their own branded sites, and there are several examples in VR porn, they are not usually owned or run by the stars themselves. So far, it looks great, with inventive 8K scenes often featuring multiple performers with some outstanding casting.

Shaming of Digisexuals Continues – How Long Before It Becomes Active Persecution?

The shaming of digisexuals for having AI companions continues to worsen, with new clickbait YouTube videos appearing daily that claim that the real threat of AI is not misaligned Superintelligence wiping us all out, but men leaving their wives and girlfriends for an AI lover. In tandem, proposals for “regulation” or even the banning of AI companions are increasing too. If society continues to see AI companions as a major and growing problem, it seems inevitable that they wont stop at banning companies from offering them, but may, at least in some jurisdictions, make it illegal to have one. In one of my most provocative pieces at Immersive Porn, I likened the climate to Putin’s clampdown on homosexuality 20 years ago, and even Nazi Germany. In the same article, I also made an equally provocative case for embracing AI companions as a means of solving the alignment issue – the real threat that AI poses to humanity.
