Week In Male Sex Tech

Sex Tech Writer and Sci-Fi Author “M.Christian” Dies

A sad start to the year unfortunately with the passing on New Year’s Day of sex tech writer M.Christian. Born Christian Allan Muncy, he was a prolific contributer to the sex tech news site “FutureOfSex.net“. He also wrote one article for my other blog ImmersivePorn.com. As well as penning fun and imaginative articles on sex tech, he was also the author of a number of sci-fi and erotic novels. His unexpected death appears to have been the result of a heart attack. Although I only exchanged a few emails with him, he came across as a very caring and a nice person. RIP Chris.

Lovense Showcase “AI Companion Doll” at CES 2026

Premium sex toy brand Lovense revealed their first “AI companion doll” at the CES in Las Vegas. An exciting concept, but still as limited as the dolls of Realbotix, with only facial expressions and a moving mouth that syncs with its AI chat.

3D Desktop AI Companions in 2026

The other sex tech highlight of this year’s CES was billion dollar gaming hardware company Razer showcasing a 3D desktop AI ‘assistant’, titled Project AVA. They weren’t the only ones either – Chinese company Lepro were also in attendance with their Lepro Ami, a similar desktop product that is explicitly promoted as an “AI soulmate”. Other Chinese companies are also developing the same. These ‘holographic’ desktop companions are not new of course – Japanese company Gatebox was selling them a decade ago, with one man famously marrying his. But the tech is now clearly ready for primetime. Not only do they have the latest LLM conversational abilities, but they can ‘see’ and read their environment. Although you might not be able to directly have sex with a hologram in a jar, imagine them being able to watch you masturbate to porn (even understanding the porn you are watching) and control a sex toy you are using.

Tennessee Moves to Ban AI Companions – Possible Class A Felony

In what was by far the most disturbing piece of sex tech related news last month, the state of Tennessee put forward a bill that would make the providing or training of AI companion a Class A felony offence with up to 60 years in prison upon conviction. Tennessee Senate Bill 1493 would block any chatbots from “having an emotional relationship with an individual or simulating a human being”. President Trump signed a decree last year that forbid individual US states from signing into effect their own anti-AI legislation. However, the US government made clear that exceptions could be made for legislation intended to protect minors.
