Realbotix and Lovense Reveal Robot AI Companion Dolls at CES 2026

Sex Robots

At last year’s CES in Las Vegas, Realbotix showed off their progress in making AI companion robots, mainly through an attractive female example they call Aria, demonstrating her ability to make conversation whilst moving her lips, as well as limited facial expressions and a habit of waving her arms about. Aria was accompanied by an elderly male robot who rather resembled an eccentric old professor. Perhaps Aria was understandably a little ‘frustrated’ with her company, as this time Realbotix paired her with a much younger and more dashing male called David. However, Aria probably wasn’t so pleased to find that she and Realbotix finally have some competition in the hot humanoid market – premium sex toy brand Lovense were also present at this year’s show, with a very attractive young lady called Emily who they are unashamedly marketing as an ‘AI companion doll’.

TBH, other than introducing David, Realbotix doesn’t seem to have made a huge amount of visible progress, although they do say that their AI dolls do now possess the ability to ‘see’, including recognizing if a person is happy or sad. This, claimed the Realbotix rep, was unique to their robots.

The Realbotix ‘robots’ are still anchored to a rotatable base. The company claims that they haven’t tried to give them the ability to walk because it would put them into uncanny valley territory and shatter the illusion of a real human. This seems a little unconvincing giving the remarkable progress in walking humanoids that other companyies have been showcasing recently, but perhaps a more valid reason is that currently the Realbotix robots are aimed at meeting and greeting people, which doesn’t much require them to move about. It also enables them to be plugged into an electric wall socket.

But there’s no doubt that Realbotix had their thunder stolen from them this year by ‘Emily’, who is the new AI companion doll from high-tech sex toy company Lovense. Emily is pretty similar to the Realbotix offerings, except that she doesn’t move her arms and is marketed directly as an AI companion for the home. It’s not clear if she has sexual organs, but they may be revealed soon as Lovense had to operate under the strict rules at CES which forbid “anatomically correct” sexual organs.

Whether or not Emily does have private parts, she should still be able to pleasure her owners, as Lovense recently launched AI companions who could do just that – by remotely operating sex toys in a highly personalized way.

Emily is not expected to be ready until at least next year, but in the meantime, you can get ahead of the queue by pre-ordering for a deposit of $200 at the Lovense website.
